Currently, you can find a pretty little black-and-white mural of the Oak Cliff neighborhood at 250 N Bishop Avenue, but in just a few short weeks, it will be a Francophile’s dream.

Marcel Market, a concept shop by Paris-natives Amelie Monvoisin and her husband Gregory, will encompass a gourmet grocery store, home accessories (think handmade French ceramics), and Parisian jewelry and clothing designers, many of which have never been available in Dallas’ retail scene. “The goal of the store is to bring exclusive French products to Dallas,” says Amelie. “They’re things that we wear, and eat, and love. Little brands that are carefully handmade.”

Some products you’ll find stocked include Elise Tsikis jewelry, made with gold and natural materials, Hypso lockets, natural apothecary products by Feret Parfumeur, and Elise Chalmin’s 100 percent organic cotton t-shirts. “Every girl has this shirt in Paris,” says Amelie.

As to why Marcel Market landed in Bishop Arts, the couple, who used to own a shop in Paris, simply fell in love with the neighborhood. “It’s a little European part of the city. You can really spend your whole day in Bishop Arts, doing some shopping and going to a nice restaurant,” says Amelie. “We have an amazing opportunity to be here, and we were extremely happy to find this space.”

The store is schedule to open this spring. For now, you can head to our slideshow to peruse a few of the products you’ll be able to discover when it does.
